What is the best radar/laser detector/scrambler?
Im looking at an escort laser shifter zr3
I m looking to put it in a Mitsubishi clipse spyder
The Escort ZR3 will only jam police laser...For Radar you will need a radar detector... I recommend that most people start with a radar detector like the Escort 8500 X50, 9500i, or BEL Vector 995 or Valentine One before they get a laser jammer as cops use radar more often than laser. There is nothing on the market currently that jams police radar and jaming police radar is illegal in all 50 states, and is a felony offense. Laser jamming is only illegal in 10states, and you can get away with jamming laser in those states just by slowing to the posted speed limit and then turning the jammer off
Good Radar Detector/Laser Detector?
I have pasport 8500x50 and it typically works well on KA band, but it lacks with respect to lasers. I go up and down 95 and when cops use lasers, the pick up of the laser is not great.
Is there a radar/laser detector aside from escort 8500x50 that you would recomend? I know escort has a new 9500 isthat any good
If you drive the speed limit... or maybe a max of 2 mph over, you may be surprised at how much less stressful your life is. I have driven over 2.5 million miles without a radar detector and have never had a speeding ticket.... if you are not dodging in and out of traffic, or acting like you have a "lease" on the left lane, you can get away with 2-3 mph over the speed limit. Why waste your money on technology that is obsolete when it hits the market? As soon as you buy a new detector, they will update the type of system the police have and you are right back where you started... Take the money, buy new CD's, crank the tunes and slow down and enjoy the ride.... two the three minutes a day savings in time is not a good return on your investment.... Good luck and drive safe.....
Would your radar detector go off if???
I have seen some silly questions that were amusing on here [israel vs england vs cuba] so i thought i would ask one. Okay, you are a terrorist going down the road, his fellow terrorists are targeted in the car for laying down a few roadside goodies for me and my fellow friends, they are running 55 mph with an Escort radar/laser detector, I call up some friends on the radio and ask for air support, F-16 is flying over head and "paints" the car for impact of a laser guided munition, will the radar detector give away whats coming next or not? =]
I know it would not set off the radar because it is a different frequency, laser is only intensified so would the laser set the detector off, reason being i have seen it take up to 30 seconds for a free falling "iron" bomb to hit, hence time to react.
you both are right to a certain extent, but yes it will trigger the detector we have shown it to be done, but as i said both are true to an extent, by the time the taget is painted it is to late anyway to make any kind of difference, i will let you both decide on who gets best answer.
No. Military radar runs on different frequencies than civilian radar. Even so, it wouldn't matter. They would be toast anyway.
What should you look for in a radar/ laser detector?
im thinking of buying a radar / laser detector, but im not really sure what i want. im thinking of getting the Valentine One, which detects friggin everything, is the best on the line, and has been reccomended to me by several people. unfortunately, i dont happen to have $350 laying around. i need something that will detect stuff good, along with LADAR, because the last and first time i got pulled, they used a laser, so i guess they are becoming more popular. what is the next best thing to buy? i kinda need to keep it under $230
my best choices seem to be, but not limited to:
whistler
cobra
escort
and beltronics. these are the most readily avaliable, but what i need to know is - what radar or laser systems are used the most often by police? is there a standard? what should i look for?
thanks for your advice, feel free to email me, and keep the answers RELEVANT - no smartass remarks, please
